Rejoy is the home brand of Romanian Flip.ro, which sells refurbished phones in an upcycling business model. At the time of launch, the overall SEO structure was incomplete: no Hungarian content, no technical base, no keyword-focused structure and no credible link profile.
The challenge was much greater than for a typical webshop:
- The telecoms and electronics category is extremely competitive, with dominant players (Telekom, MediaMarkt, eMAG, Apple).
- The project was managed by the Romanian parent company, so international cooperation in English was required.
- While developing the site, there were constant technical changes that required proactive SEO support.
If we hadn't sorted this out, Rejoy would not have been able to enter the race for traffic boosting searches such as „iphone”, „used iphone” or „refurbished phone”.
Steps to the solution
The strategy was built on four pillars:
1. Technical SEO basics
- Full technical audit before and during departure.
- Coordination with developers to fix bugs.
- Categorisation and navigation suggestions.
- Proactive bug monitoring during the ongoing construction of the site.
2. Content SEO and localisation
- We translated and optimised the meta titles, meta descriptions and SEO content of the entire webshop into Hungarian.
- We created a translation template system for the Romanian team.
- We have continuously fixed SEO errors in content (duplications, naming, structures).
3. Blog strategy (authority building)
- 8 articles per month, 200+ blog posts in total; full coverage of the entire telephony topic.
- We came up with the content strategy and topic ideas.
- The articles were later picked up by Romanian and Bulgarian sites.
4. Link building - in coordination with PR activities
- In 2.5 years, we have built a quality link profile that has enabled Rejoy to close the competitive gap.
- We have gained thematically relevant impressions, focusing on quality and stable growth.
- The structure of the link profile fitted in with their already active PR strategy.
Results and lessons learned
Rejoy.hu's organic presence has gone from nothing to competitive in 2.5 years.
Main results:
- 76 000 organic clicks/month by July 2024 (Google).
- TOP3 for the keyword „iphone” - one of the most difficult terms in Hungarian SEO.
- It is also ahead of Apple's site for several search terms.
- Stable competition from large mobile webshops (Telekom, eMAG, MediaMarkt).
- The Romanian team only had a 30-minute meeting every two weeks, everything else we did independently.
- They also entrusted us with the Hungarian market reporting - we did all the reporting.
Lessons learned:
- In the telecoms market, results can only be achieved through massive content coverage and consistent link building.
- Good communication and proactive technical support are critical for international projects.
- Localisation is not just translation, but SEO-oriented structure building.
